Maps & More
Have you ever wondered what that 'box' outside your property is for? Aurora now gives everyone access to its asset locations, via the internet, so you can find out whether Aurora owns that 'box' and what it is for.

Shown above is the GIS interface "plugged into"
Microsoft's Internet Explorer, with Queenstown Bay,
the Shotover River, and Lake Hayes visible.
The link below gives you access to the state-of-the-art Information Systems under which Aurora's assets are recorded and managed. This is the same interface that Aurora's assets managers use to operate, maintain and plan the expansion of Aurora's assets. It is also the interface that the various contractors who work on Aurora's assets can use to download maps and data, and to upload changes using handheld Personal Digital Assistants (PDA's).
But first a couple of qualifications:
- DO NOT rely on the data to locate underground cables
Before digging phone 0800 4DELTA - they offer a cable location service under contract to Aurora. - If you are browsing from behind a company firewall then the viewer may not load or operate correctly - try it from home.
- The query tool (which allows retrieval of text information) is reasonably intuitive. If you cannot get it to work for you, phone 0800 4DELTA and ask for Colin Adams or one of his team for help.
- Recently added or altered assets may not be updated to the internet engine for some weeks, and therefore some assets may be missing in error. Locations of all equipment are approximate only.
- When you first click on the link, your browser will download a viewer plug-in, which might take a while depending on your PC, modem and communications line.
